In my 60+ years I have had experience of a number of differing Christian traditions. I live near Durham and have been a Local Preacher in the Durham and Deerness Valley Circuit since the late 1980s.
For many years I worked for the Prison Service in administration, but after the opportunity to read a degree in Theology & Ministry, my final years were spent as the Free Church Chaplain at HMP Durham as part of a multi-faith Chaplaincy team.
Among various Circuit and District roles, I am one of the Ecumenical Officers for the Darlington Methodist District and the ‘Covenant Champion’ role seemed an appropriate extension to this.
