Early in its work, the Joint Covenant Advocacy and Monitoring Group recognised that it needed help to fulfil its advocacy role. It decided to establish a network of Covenant Champions to assist it at district and diocesan level. Their task is:
- to champion and communicate within the dioceses and districts proposals about episcopacy and reconciliation of ministries in the successive stages of the synodical and conference processes;
- to communicate news about initiatives at national level in order to enthuse others within the districts and dioceses; and
- to gather and share good stories of Anglican–Methodist joint working within dioceses and districts and to share them more widely.
The districts and dioceses have been grouped together into regions to be served by one or more Covenant Champions. The regions are as follows and the links take you to a list of dioceses and districts along with name and contact details of the relevant Covenant Champion(s):
